Music Thanatologists

Music-thanatology offers live prescriptive music with harp and voice to those receiving hospice care.  Prescriptive music is not background music, favorite hymns or tunes.  Prescriptive music actually addresses physical symptoms like respirations, temperature or heart rate and draws on the essential elements of music – harmony, rhythm, and melody.  Unique moments are created in which music offers support to the interior suffering of patient and family members. The primary goal of this service is to lovingly serve the physical and spiritual needs of the dying.
